Avangelia Haskopoulos Obituary

Evangelia Angelidakis Haskopoulos peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on October 6, 2025,
surrounded by the love of her family. Evangelia was born on February 10, 1935, in Kardamyla,
Chios, Greece, to Stefanos and Aspasia Angelidakis. As a teenager, she moved to Brooklyn,
where she met her beloved husband, Constantinos. Together, they built a family grounded in
faith, hard work, and love.
Evangelia was the heart of her home. A proud Greek homemaker, she poured her life into raising
her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, a skilled seamstress, and above all, a
woman of deep faith. She instilled in her family a love for their Greek heritage, teaching her
granddaughter, Evangelia, the language, traditions, and recipes that connected her to their roots.
Her love for the Church was steadfast and enduring. She was a devoted parishioner of Kimisis
Theotokou in Brooklyn and later of St. Nicholas in Tarpon Springs, where she found comfort,
community, and strength in her Orthodox faith. Her faith was not only in words but in actions.
She lived her life with humility, generosity, and unwavering trust in God. Above all, Evangelia’s
life was defined by family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride
and joy, the source of her greatest happiness. She delighted in family gatherings and the simple
moments of sitting by the pool, watching her favorite game shows, or spending time with her
beloved dog, George. Her presence brought warmth, love, and a sense of home to everyone
around her.
Evangelia is survived by her daughter Aspasia (Nikitas), son Stefanos (Lillie), granddaughter
Evangelia (Nicholas), granddaughter Vasiliki (Paul), grandson Costa (Lauren), granddaughter
Evangelia, and two great-granddaughters, who will carry her legacy forward with love and
gratitude. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Constantinos, and her beloved son, John
(Denise).
May her memory be eternal.
