Carmen Josephine Phillips, of Clearwater, passed away Tuesday, May 11, at the age of 80. She was born in Manta, Ecuador on February 16, 1941. She married Captain Wendell Phillips in 1966. Carmen is survived by her four children, Ron, Anna, Yvette, & Tanya; and her beloved grandchildren, Sterling, Tatiana, Tabitha, Trent, Kyla, Isabella and Ian. Carmen also leaves behind a large family in Ecuador including her sisters, Italia, Leonor, Libertad, Venus; and her brothers, Marco and Carlos. Carmen was an amazing artist and chef. She authored cookbooks and taught classes in Ecuador. She made an impact in the lives of many through her love and generosity. In lieu of flowers, please donate to hospice, she kept this organization close to her heart. A visitation will be held from 11 am to 12 pm, and the funeral service starting at 12 pm, all on, Saturday, May 29, at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home Chapel, with a graveside service immediately following across the street at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
