Dana "Sissy" Zimmerman Lipsey

Dana (Sissy) Zimmerman Lipsey, 72, of Tarpon Springs, passed away on April 23, 2022.  Dana was born in 1949, in Clearwater, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Dana Zimmerman. She is survived by her loving husband, Leslie Lamar Lipsey; two sisters, Julia Zimmerman (Thomas Schmick) and Phyllis McGuinness (Patrick McGuinness); and a close-knit extended family; and many devoted friends.  Dana attended Ozona Elementary, Palm Harbor Junior High and was a graduate of Tarpon Springs High School.  She earned a BA in business from the University of Tampa, as well as an education degree from the University of South Florida.  She taught elementary school for many years in Pinellas County. Dana was a lifelong resident of Tarpon Springs and summered in both, Newland and Hendersonville, North Carolina. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs and the First Baptist Church of Newland, North Carolina. She was also a member of Cypress Run Country Club. She loved traveling, entertaining and caring for all things furry.  Services are planned for Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Suncoast Hospice, North Pinellas County, 164 Westlake Road, Palm Harbor, FL  34684.
