Debra (Nachtigall) Chaisson

Debra " Debi" (Nachtigall) Chaisson was a dedicated mother, educator, and most of all beloved Gaga passed away June 10, 2024. Debi was born in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey on January 30, 1954 to Walter and Kathrine Nachtigall. She grew up on Long Island, New York where she attended Brentwood High School and met the love of her life, Denis. They were married February 16, 1975.  Together, they had two children, Tara and Derek. Debi’s passion was in education, working with all ages throughout her career, a passion which she instilled in both of her children, who both became teachers.  She was often seen helping in whichever way that she could, whether it was in the front office or to early intervention pre-kindergarten teaching.

To her friends and family, “Gaga” as her grandchildren called her, was known for her love of travel, generous heart, love for animals, and Disney. There was not one grandchild event that she did not attend nor Disney trip that “Gaga” was not there. She was often seen rooting on the sidelines of field day, at holiday Christmas parties, and always finding time to spend quality time with her grandchildren, Lori and Sawyer 

Debi was known for her big laugh, occasional snort but most of all the love for her family.  Debi is survived by her son and daughter, Derek Chaisson, his wife, Joanne and Tara Bossert, her husband, Bob; brother, Bob Nachtigall; and her recent passion was her love for her grandchildren Lori (6) and Sawyer (4).  

Please join us by honoring this wonderful mother, friend, teacher, and “Gaga” on, Monday, June 17, 2024 for a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 and a service at 11:00, all at Michels and Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL.
