Donald R. Smith, 93, went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2024. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Clarence William and Hazel Mae Smith (Rodgers). Donald was married to his wife, Catherine of 71 years. They moved from Youngstown, Ohio to Florida 34 years ago. He enjoyed home baked cookies, pies and cakes. He loved being an usher at church. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Tarpon Springs. He loved to rollerskate, playing cards, gardening and going bowling. He was employed by JC Penney’s for over thirty years. He was the district manager in displays and advertising. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Smith (Dietz); parents, Clarence and Hazel Smith; brother, Jack Smith; two sisters, Evelyn and Nona. He is survived by his three daughters, Sandra (Jay) Parker, Sharon (Robert) Miller, Sheila (Thomas) Wilson; eight grandchildren, David Parker, Daniel (Jennifer) Parker, Tami (Michael) Webster, Joshua (Ophilia) Ciesicki, Matthew Wilson, Amy (Joshua) Taguiam, Jennifer (Steve) Breymaier, Benjamin (Taya) Wilson; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, at The Oasis in New Port Richey.
