Estelle (Neisner) McKeown

Estelle (Neisner) McKeown, 91, of Clearwater, formerly of Tarpon Springs, passed away, October 12, 2020. Estelle  was born on Sept. 15, 1929 in Berlin, Germany.  She immigrated to the United States with her father and older brother in  1941.  Growing up in Yonkers NY, she worked  for the telephone company as a switch board operator. She married Robert Mckeown and in 1952 they moved to Detroit Michigan, where they started a family. Together Bob and Estelle raised 3 children.   In the 1970’s,  she started a business teaching knitting and selling supplies.  Robert and Estelle moved to Tarpon Springs,  Florida in 1980. After Robert’s death, she worked in retail sales until she met and married Jerry Menges, of Clearwater, in 2003.   Retired at age 75,  she chose to volunteer for Suncoast Hospice of Palm Harbor for several years. Estelle made many friends and  genuinely cared for others. Whether standing in line at the grocery store or passing by on the sidewalk she always had a smile and a hello for everyone.  Estelle will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She is survived by two sons, Perry McKeown and Robert McKeown; daughter, Laura McKeown - Bel; two grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
