Eugenia (Drivas) Mitchell

Eugenia (Drivas) Mitchell, 91, of Ft. Lauderdale, formerly of Tarpon Springs, passed away on October 17, 2019. She was born in Tarpon Springs, to Nicholas Stanley and Mary (Smitzes) Drivas. She attended local schools in Tarpon Springs, her family owned local restaurants and was known as an originator of sponge packaging.  Eugenia was an artist, she loved show dogs, sports, politics and was very supportive of her husband who ran the Pier 66 Hotel, in Ft. Lauderdale. She is survived by her nephew, Nicholas Drivas. Funeral service will be on Thursday, October 24 at 1:00 pm at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will follow at Cycadia Cemetery
