Gary Paul Maujean, Sr. (74), of Largo, Florida, passed away on April 20, 2024, peacefully at HCA Largo Medical Hospital. Gary was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, September 24, 1949, to Joan Jean (Pott) Maujean and Paul Frank Maujean, Sr. Upon graduating from Lees College, Kentucky, he was employed as a Kentucky State Police officer. In 1987, Gary then moved to Largo, Florida, with his wife, Verdia Evelyn (Holbrook) Maujean and two sons, Gary Paul Maujean, Jr. and Enoch Oliver Maujean, from Glasgow, Kentucky. He was employed with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer until he retired in 2013. Gary was also a pilot for the Civil Air Patrol, United States Air Force Auxiliary, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife of 55 years, Verdia Evelyn; his two sons, Gary Paul Jr., and Enoch Oliver; his grandchildren, Kevon Austin Maujean and Kayla Rochelle Maujean; along with his sisters, Gail Jean (Maujean) Seay, Janine Marie Maujean and Darlene Margaret (Maujean) Plummer. A private family celebration of life was held, and his remains were cremated.
