Iris Jane (Kerr) Gerakios

Iris Jane Gerakios, 88, a longtime resident of Tarpon Springs, passed away on February 8, 2021. Iris was born in Youngstown, Ohio and moved to Tarpon Springs nearly sixty five years ago. She had spent many years as a dental assistant and later in life worked with the deaf community in St. Augustine and locally in Pasco County. She was preceded in death by her late husband, George Emanuel Gerakios, her five sisters, two brothers and her grandson, Matthew Jackson. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her five children, Maryann Nash,  Manuel Gerakios, Michael Gerakios, Nickolas Gerakios and Stephanie Jackson, along with her twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Iris treasured her family and embraced her time with them. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11, with a service starting at 11am, all on Thursday, February 11, held at Michels and Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey. Interment will follow at Cycadia Cemetery, 1021 Tarpon Tarpon Springs. Services will be handled by Vinson Funeral Home.
