Janet Leigh Cheek, 62, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Rome, Georgia on June 12th, 1958, the daughter of LeVantia Lee Cox-Harlan and Norman Lee Stewart. Janet resided most of her life in Pinellas County, Florida. She spent her years devoted to her sons, her grandchildren, her family, and her career. Janet was employed for over 40 years with Tforce in Tampa. In addition, she also worked as a CNA, spending her nights and weekends doing what she did best, caring for others. Janet’s commitment to all aspects of life made her the mom-of-moms. Attending countless baseball games and school functions for her sons, supporting them all of their endeavors all while still maintaining her immaculate home. Janet was the best host, you never left her home hungry. She was the most doting mother and anyone that entered her home was taken in as family. She was the hardest worker and despite cancer she was compelled to work every day until the end. Janet was predeceased by her father, Norman Lee Stewart, and her life companion, Don Baker. She is survived by her two sons, Matthew and his spouse Heather, Jeffrey and his spouse Samantha; three beautiful grandchildren, Easton, Declan, and Delaney; her mother, LeVantia Lee Cox-Harlan; one sister, Shari Stewart. Memorial service will be held at 1:00, on Sunday, October 11 at the OVIS Hall, 310 Orange Street North, Ozona. Vinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
