Kandis Lynn Kingery Dees, 72, of Palm Harbor went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 29th 2023 at Morton Plant Hospital in Cearwater. Born June 10th 1950 to Barbara and Fred Kingery of St. Petersburg, had one sibling, a brother named Mark. Kandis attended Tarpon Springs High School then went on to earn her AA from St. Pete Junior College. In the late 1970’s, she assisted her husband in running their sporting goods store, The Sports Spot in Dunedin and then went on to work as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office in Palm Harbor and Clearwater. She retired after 28 years of service. Kandis loved Jesus, coffee, painting, cooking, feeding “armies” of friends and family delicious food and doting on her family, especially her four grandchildren. Kandis was a uniquely gifted artist with an amazing sense of humor who always went out of her way to make others feel welcomed and loved. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wayne Dees; her son, Brent Dees, her daughter-in-law Kim Dees; her daughter, Kendall Dees; her grandchildren, Ashley Dees, Maxwell Latibeaudiere, Brandon Dees, Kaia Latibeaudiere and her grand dog, Willa Mae Dees. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Edna (Momo) Kersey; grandfather, Liscomb (Goggy) Kersey; Aunt, Vera Heinz; mother, Barbara Kingery; aunt, Joyce Newberry; her father, Fred J Kingery; her niece, Kylee Boden; her brother, Mark Kingery.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, May 16th from 6pm-8pm at the White Chapel in downtown Palm Harbor. A small visitation on, Wednesday, May 17th will be between 4:00pm and 4:30pm and the funeral service will be held from 4:30pm and 5:30pm, with a funeral reception immediately following next door at Harbor Hall from 5:30pm until 8:00pm. Funeral service officiant Marilyn King. A graveside service will be held in Dunnellon on Saturday, May 20th at 11am at Dunnellon Memorial Gardens. She will be laid to rest next to her mother and father. Committal service will be led by Reverend Harold Hendren. Funeral arrangements by Vinson Funeral Home of Tarpon Springs.
