Kathy Mahinis Alesafis

Kathy Mahinis Alesafis, 84, of Tarpon Springs, passed away, Monday, January 3, 2022, with her family surrounding her.  She was born and raised in Tarpon Springs to her parents, Themelis "Tom" and Maria (Samarkos) Mahinis. Kathy was a graduate of Tarpon Springs High School, class of 1955. She worked for the City of Tarpon Springs from 1977-2003, and was Tarpon's first female City Clerk. She loved her family, Greek culture, church, city and work.   She was a loving, giving, daughter, wife, mother and yiayia.  Kathy was preceded in death by her soulmate and husband, Michael Alesafis. She is survived by three daughters, Maria de Koter (Gert-Jan), Georgii Michael (Shahn), Pelagia Kilgore( (Kent); six grandchildren, Michael, Yanna, Sophia; Nomikos, Katina; Sydney. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00, and the funeral service starting at 10:00, all on Saturday, January 8, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Burial will follow at Cycadia Cemetery.
