Kehnon Gause Obituary

On Sat Feb 13th, 2021 at the age of 31, Kehnon Israel Gause passed away as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in deadwood Oregon, where he was living. Kehnon Gause had worked as a full stack programmer with talents that surpassed most. A position with a firm took him to the State of Oregon. His passion for adventure as well as his love for Christin Kennedy ultimately had led him joyfully to a beautiful place named Alpha Farms.

Kehnon was born on March 17, 1989 and grew up in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He is survived by his loving Mother- Kimberly During, Step Father- Ron During, Father-David Gause, Step Mother-Rachel Gause and Siblings-Joshua Nevil Gause (30) Celia Klaire During (21) Sebastian Chandler Thwaits (21) Gloria Rose Spearson (19) Nya Shae During (17) and Mayla Deanna Gause (16)

Our Kehnon was a Brilliant and Beautiful soul that will continue to be walking with each one of us. He used his light to encourage us to see the world so differently. To experience life with a higher level of awareness and respect; with eyes and heart wide open. His crystal clear, blue eyes; so, telling, and oh how we love the way he twirled his mustache. His laugh is forever etched in our hearts, his style, so uniquely his own. And his hugs... so tender, yet strong with powerful presence.

Kehnon was so much of a presence that it’s hard to sum up in only a few words of what he gave to us all. We all can say that when Kehnon gave himself to us that could manifest itself in many ways but it would always be authentic and without reserve. Loving our Kehnon came with a range of both perplexing situations and times of extreme joy. In other words, he didn’t simply live life but took time to experience it of which he often shared with us all.

Kehnon actively participated in all that life has to offer. He was a deep thinker with an appreciation of the art of literature. He was a prolific reader in which he consumed any written word that he could. Those he was closest to are all holding a copy of one of his favorites (Kahlil Gibran, “The Prophet”) as he would share that one with everyone he loved.

He studied and read all of the great Poets, Philosophers, and Authors. Some of his other favorites were Bukowski, Hemingway, Kurt Vonnegut, and the Dali Lama. He had recently begun to study some of the works of Carl Jung and would often be open to discuss Jung’s theories with anyone who could grasp the concepts from which Kehnon’s higher intellect allowed for. He would often turn to the teachings of Buddha. He also drew strength from various musical artist.

Kehnon himself was an extremely talented musician and artist. He has left us with his prolific journaling of his thoughts, prose, muses, drawings, and more. He was accomplished in technology by 5 years old and had the entire library of Napster on his home computer by the age of 9. At 12, while in middle school he was the first and youngest student to enter the higher education system. It was a programming class in which he became Team Lead and earned an A as well as the passion for coding. At the age of 14, he was the lead programmer on his high school’s Robotic Engineering Team who helped them compete at the state level.

He was well read and traveled the globe as an International College Student at the age of 15. He took four college courses (Humanities, Art History, Western Philosophy, Literature) while in France, Italy, England, Austria, Germany. Amazingly, he returned with a 4.0 grade point average despite being named the “Eddie Haskell” of the entire trip. By 16, his Asian Studies professor in high school said that when you have a child like Kehnon he will thrive in an environment that is less structured than school and that he was so far ahead of most which is how he is the first and only person in his home county to pass the exam with a perfect score to earn his high school diploma. Yes, a GED with “Honors” of which seems like an oxymoron. (No offense meant to all of us average students)

He was one of those rare intellectuals that quickly bored with just academics. His special approach to life and all of the mysteries, thereof was to appreciate life by exploring it to its fullest and asking more questions of it then assuming to have the answers.

Kehnon expressed in his writings that it was very important to him to share your inner light with everyone and do not dwell on the past but move forward with love, light, acceptance and forgiveness in all that you do. Live your truth as he did his. He felt deeply, hurt deeply, loved deeply, and to honor him would be to take time to always reflect, water the seeds of love not hate or despair and share in the fruits of love.
