Maritsa Hourdas

Maritsa "Beba" Hourdas, 76, of Tarpon Springs passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2024. Maritsa was a lifelong resident of Tarpon Springs. A 1966 graduate of Tarpon Springs High School, she went on to continue her education at the University of South Florida.

In her younger years, Maritsa was captain of the high school tennis team and an avid bowler. She was a lifelong bingo player. Maritsa taught business at Countryside High School for over 30 years, retiring in 2005 to care for her beloved aunt. She was a past member of the Daughters of Penelope, a current member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and a regular at Friday night AHEPA dinners with her family.

Maritsa was a devoted sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her brothers, Jerry Hourdas (Linda) and Peter Hourdas; as well as her five nephews and nieces, George Kenneth Hourdas, Maria Hourdas-Hurst, Beth Hourdas Ariza, George Peter Hourdas and James Henry Hourdas.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 to 1:00, with the funeral starting at 1:00 on Wednesday, July 3, all at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment to follow at Cycadia Cemetery.
