Matthew "Matt" Paul Haasch, 35, native of Tarpon Springs, passed away after a recent diagnosis of cancer, on Saturday, September 6, 2025. He was born in Clearwater, to his parents, Paul David Haasch and Susan Miccio, and was a lifelong resident of Tarpon Springs. Matt graduated from Tarpon Springs High School and St. Petersburg College. Matt was a computer technology teacher at Tarpon Springs Middle School and owner of Star Fruit Books.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul David Haasch. He is survived by his mother and step father, Susan Miccio Kikta and Steven Kikta; grandparents, Kenneth and Janyce Kikta; many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and wonderful friends and students.
Matt was taken from us far too soon, he was a shoulder to cry on, a cheerleader for the people he loved and a great man who followed his dreams, did what he loved and inspired so many. Matt was a unique individual who could light up a room with his bright smile and sense of humor. He was extremely kind and had a huge heart. His promises must be kept: teach, create, laugh and love. May his soul find infinite freedom, rest and joy.
A celebration of life will be held on October 18, 2025 at Rusty Belly's Tarpon Springs from 11-2
