Michael John Vaporis, 68, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, passed away on August 28, 2023. Born on August 4, 1955, in Dunedin, FL, Michael was a loving and selfless individual who always had a smile on his face and a joke to share. He was known for his giving nature, his sense of humor, and dedication to his family.
Michael is survived by his children, Ashley Vaporis, Benjamin Vaporis, Cheney Vaporis and his loving granddaughter, Lainey Vaporis. He is also survived by his two sisters, Nancy Stephens, Kharis McLane, and brother-in-law, Jim McLane; his best friend of over 60 years and chosen brother, Bill Lang and his wife Denise Lang; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and family partners, Jorge Gomez and Wade Hooper. He is preceded in death by his father, Emmanual Vaporis; mother, Anne Vaporis; brother-in-law Mick Stephens.
Michael graduated from Tarpon Springs High School in 1973. Following his graduation, he served as a medic in the Navy from 1975 to 1979. His dedication and service to his country were commendable. After his military service, Michael pursued a career as a Tarpon Springs firefighter and paramedic from 1986 to 2005. His commitment to protecting and serving his community was evident in his work.
A ceremony to honor and remember Michael will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs on Friday September 8, 2023, a visitation will take place at 12:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm.
Michael Vaporis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His selflessness, humor, kind-hearted nature, and his love for his family, will be cherished and remembered forever.
