Michael John Vaporis

Michael John Vaporis, 80, native of Tarpon Springs, passed away on March 26, 2020, under the care of Suncoast Hospice. He was a graduate of Tarpon Springs High School class of 1957 and a United States Army Veteran. After his military service, he was a Tarpon Springs Police Officer for several years before working as a United States Postal Service Postmaster in Oldsmar. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 year, Helen Vaporis; four children, Michael Vaporis, Jr., Jon Vaporis, Nikki Vaporis and Alexandra Vaporis; brother, George Vaporis; sister, Kally O'Connell; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a companion yorkie furbaby, Chloe. A small private family service was held at 11:00 am, on, Monday, March 30th at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral with interment following at Cycadia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to, St. Nicholas Ladies Philoptochos or AHEPA George Washington Chapter. Vinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
