Michael Robert Hardin, 60, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2021 in Tarpon Springs. Mike was the beloved brother of Cynthia Hardin Tarapani and her husband John K. Tarapani, and Ruth Hardin Yost and her husband COL (R) Robert Yost. Mike is predeceased by his parents Robert and Karen Hardin. Mike was a native Floridian and he sought out the many unique and off-the-beaten path places in this state that he loved. Mike enjoyed all outdoor activities in Florida and especially hunting at his camp with his club friends. Mike was a dedicated employee of Publix Super Markets for over 35 years and family members would incur his wrath (only partially joking) if anyone dared to think of shopping anywhere else. Mike was loyal to his family and lifelong friends and generous with his time and talents. Mike is also survived by his nephew Townsend Tarapani (Jenna); nieces Jessica Yost Bledsoe (Robert), Rebekah Yost Kerr (Tyler), and Abigail Yost; great- nephews and great- niece Leon, Galilee, Marvel, Hardin, Jackson, and Caleb; and many cousins and lifelong friends. A Memorial Service for Mike will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at First United Methodist Church Main Sanctuary, 501 East Tarpon Avenue, Tarpon Springs. Friends and family will be received at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. in the Church Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests a donation to Ducks Unlimited, Mike’s favorite charity, https://www.ducks.org/florida, or Moffitt Cancer Center, where he received outstanding care, https://moffitt.org/give. Vinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
