Nicholas "Nick" Emanuel Tsongranis, of Tarpon Springs, fell asleep June 4, 2022, with his family near his side. He was born February 4, 1941, in Tarpon Springs, to his parents, Emanuel George and Kalotina Sevasti (Galouzis) Tsongranis. He graduated from Tarpon Springs High School, then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960 and served as Aviation Electronic 2nd class. His last duty assignment and major command was Attack Squadron 163. After honorable discharge, he worked at Illinois Bell, transferring to Southern Bell, AT&T, and Lucent Technology until retirement. While at Southern Bell, he met a different Southern belle, Dora Sutton, they fell into such a deep love and so much admiration for each other, that few will ever experience. Survived by his adoring wife of 52 years, Dora (Sutton) Tsongranis, their loving children, Helen Grigoris, Manny (Lisa) Tsongranis, Soteri (Stacey) Tsongranis, Katina Tsongranis, and Stephan Tsongranis; numerous cherished grandchildren; a great grandson; and another great grandchild due within a few days; numerous nieces and nephews that loved him fondly; and his dear sister in law, Sylvia Tsongranis. He loved his canine children, enjoyed the beach, fishing, metal detecting, spending as much time with family as he could. He was a faithful servant of God that enjoyed church and bible study. He was an animated storyteller and loved a good debate. Nick always had a twinkle in his eye, which he passed on to his children. He was preceded by his parents, Emanuel G. and Kalotina (Galouzis) Tsongranis; brothers, Nickey, Nomikos, Rev. Father George and Presbytera Sophie Tsongranis; Sisters Kaliope (Steve) Panagiotis; Mary (Andrew) Rousonelos; and Sevasti (John) Argoudelis. Services will be held on June 14th at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, with a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 and the funeral service starting at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Cycadia Cemetery with military honors.
