Pamela Joyce Kontodiakos fell asleep with the Lord on November 13, 2024. She was born on April 23, 1951 in New Haven, Connecticut and moved to Florida as a child. She served the Tarpon Springs community as a teacher at Sunset Hills Elementary for 39 years before retiring. Pam met the love of her life and beloved husband, Pete, of 50 years. She was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family and community. She is survived by her loving husband, Pantelis “Pete”; her daughters, Theresa “Terri” Kontodiakos, Angeliki “Kiki” Kontodiakos, and Anastasia “Staci” (Evangelos) Zagorianos; her son; Michael (Katlyn) Kontodiakos; and beloved grandchildren, Pantelis Kontodiakos, Panayiota Zagorianos, and James Kontodiakos; her siblings, Patrick (Laura) Grant, Maureen “Penny” (James) Grubbs, Thomas (Susan) Grant, and Billy (Paige) Ward; her siblings in marriage, Nikolaos (Maria) Kontodiakos, Maria Skyllas, Manuel Kontodiakos, John (Argie) Kontodiakos, and Jacqueline (John) Meris; 24 nieces and nephews and 36 grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Eamon Grant, and Theresa and Melvin Thom; her brother, Robert Ward; her parents in-law, Michael and Angeliki Kontodiakos; sisters-in-law, Eleni Kontodiakos Liras and Tatiani Kontodiakos Marsh; brothers-in-law; George Michael and Demetrios Michael Kontodiakos; and nephews; Elias Meris and Macaulie Cornett.
Pam Kontodiakos, a beacon of kindness and love, will forever reside in our hearts. Her legacy, exemplified by her love of education and compassion, will continue to inspire and guide us. As we grapple with the loss of her physical presence, we find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on through her family, friends, coworkers and students as well as the love and laughter she instilled in her family.
The viewing will be at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 10:00 to 12:00 and the funeral immediately following at noon.
