Paraskevi (Spathis) Piskopos

Paraskevi Piskopos, April 11, 1935 - March 11, 2024

We mourn the loss of Paraskevi (Kevi) Piskopos (nee Spathis), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, godmother and friend.
Kevi was born on the island of Zakynthos, Greece, April 11, 1935, the youngest of six children. Growing up in extreme poverty during WWII and the Greek Civil War, she learned to appreciate all things, big and small. At twenty years old, she emigrated to Montreal, Canada where she was later reintroduced to Gregory, a fellow Zakynthian, who she married in 1959. Sixteen years later, with their three children, the family moved to California and got into the restaurant business. By 1979, the whole family worked in the restaurant and Greg and Kevi were known as welcoming and caring hosts to the many guests who visited multiple times each week. In 1991, Greg and Kevi got out of the restaurant business, moved to Florida, and never stopped being hosts to their many friends and neighbors. Everyone was welcome at their table.

On March 11, 2024, Kevi’s earthly adventure ended, but we are comforted with knowing she is now on a joyful adventure in the arms of our Lord whom she loved and worshipped throughout her life. There is no doubt she is spreading as much joy and happiness in heaven as she did on earth.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory; one son, John; two daughters, Helen and Catherine (son-in-law Tony); one sister,  Basiliki; four grandchildren, Gabriella, Marcus, Jonathon, Gregory; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, godchildren and  friends.

In lieu of flowers, Kevi asked that you consider a donation to the Annunciation Monastery in Reddick, FL. A visitation will be held from 11 to 12, with a service at 12:00, all on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will follow at Anclote Cemetery in Holiday.
