Peter Edgar

Peter Edgar, 77, a longtime resident of Tarpon Springs, passed away, Tuesday, August 27th, 2019, at Advent Health North Pinellas hospital, following a chronic illness. Peter was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in Florida, the son of Pendleton and Lillian (Lien) Edgar. In his early years, Peter would spend most of his time fishing. After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Navy; where he met his wife at the time, Janet Ptacek. After serving, he had the opportunity to become a realtor for, Gause Custom Builders and also sold cell-phones, when they first came out. He not only took pride in his work but also cherished the lifelong friends he made during that time. Being an avid and devoted scuba diver and fisherman his whole life, he eventually went into sponge diving and continued to do that for the rest of his working career. During retirement and in his later years, he liked to write short stories and make paintings that he would bring to the art festivals in the Tarpon Springs community. He very much enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and tending to the yard at his home. His wishes were to be cremated and spread into the sea by his family and close friends. He leaves his son, David Edgar; his three granddaughters, Taylor Edgar, Kylee Edgar and Emma Riddle-Edgar, and many close friends behind. Vinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
