Sophia P. Georgelas (Georgiou), age 88, long time resident of Tarpon Springs, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2020. She was born, April 8, 1932, in Salem, Massachusetts, where she was raised until moving to Tarpon Springs. She owned and operated the Dolphin Curio Shop and the Bouzouki Gift Shop, on the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her three sons, George Georgiou, John Georgiou, Peter Georgiou and her former husband and friend, John Georgiou. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joy Georgiou Sakelson (Edward Craig); two grandchildren, Johnny and Michael Sakelson; and her beloved companion, Manuel Houvardas.
