Thelma Dalacos Obituary

Thelma Lula Dalacos, 96, life long resident of Tarpon Springs, peacefully gained her wings and went to Heaven to be with the Lord on August 7th,2020, while in her residence under the care of Suncoast Hospice. Lula was born in St. Petersburg on August 10th 1923 to Peter John and Fannie Cardullias. Lula graduated from Tarpon Springs Senior High School and then attended University of Tampa. Early on in her career she worked as an Executive Secretary for Pratt And Whitney and then was a Society Columnist  for the Tarpon Springs Leader. Later in life after raising her 2 children, Lula became a successful and prosperous real estate agent working for Tropical Realty. Lula met and married her soul mate, Costas Spiros Dalacos on October 2nd 1952 in Athens Greece. They had two sons Peter Spiros Dalacos and Bill Costas Dalacos. Lula was a wonderful and loving mother, devoted wife and faithful companion for life, through all of lives adventures. Lula was a life long member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral as well as a member of AHEPA, Daughters of Penelope, and  Philoptochos Society. After Lula's husband, Costas, retired from the Federal Aviation administration he went to work for the United Nations and she became a world traveler, traveling to exotic locations and also doing charity work in the orphanages along with the locals. Her travels took her to locations such as China, Japan, Thailand, Asia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia. Lula is predeceased by her of husband of 54 years, Costas Spiros Dalacos, as well as her sister, Cliffie Sarandon, three brothers, Tony Cardullias, Johnny Cardullias, and Deno Cardullias. Lula is Survived by her two sons, Bill Dalacos, and her daughter-in-law, Betty Dalacos, Peter Dalacos, and his girlfriend, Margo Leiser; three granddaughters, Selah Gardner, Natlie Dalacos, and Alexi Dalacos; one great grandson, Huxley Gardner. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation, St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral Dome Fund or Tarpon Springs AHEPA. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Thursday, August 13, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will take place at Cycadia Cemetery. Vinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
