Vasilios “Bill” Demetropoulos, 93, of Tarpon Springs, Fla, formerly of Chicago, IL, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 27, 2020. He was born, January 3, 1927, in Gargalianoi, Greece, to Demetrios and Georgia Demetropoulos. He worked for Acme Sponge & Chamois Company for 65 years. He loved working there. He is united at last with his late wife, Maria Demetropoulos. Bill’s legacy is left behind in his family whom he loved dearly and was very proud of. Survivors include his sister, Toula of Gargalianoi, Greece; two daughters, Georgia Pappas, her husband Tony Pappas and Niki Demetropoulos, who lived with him and was always there for him; son, Jim Demetropoulos, his wife Lori Wilcox; four grandchildren, Irene Pappas, George Pappas, Steve Demetropoulos, and David Demetropoulos; and many nieces and nephews. Vasili was our beloved Dad, Papou, Brother, Uncle, Friend. He was strong, smart, friendly, helpful anytime you needed him, and fun to be with. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs. Interment to follow at Cycadia Cemetery in Tarpon Springs.
