Zula Peperis Obituary

Zula Peperis, age 94, peacefully passed on February 27, 2025. Zula is survived by her loving family; her two nephews, Stan Bouchlas and Deno Bouchlas; her brother- in- law, William Nelsen; and cousins, Nikki Mandas Christu, Magdaline (Davis) Barlow, and Georgia (Demo) Beys and many other cousins.

Zula is predeceased by her parents, Costas and Magdaline (Mandas) Peperis, sister, Nena Peperis, sister, Leoni (Peperis) Nelsen, sister, Bessie (Peperis) Bouchlas, brother-in-Law, George Bouchlas and cousins, Angelo Angelis and Peter Angelis.

After graduating Tarpon Springs High School, Zula worked for the Snowcrop Corporation and the Aerosonic Corporation in Clearwater, Florida. Following this she went to work in Washington, D.C. for the U.S. State Department and subsequently the U.S. Treasury Department. During her employment at the Treasury Department she was posted at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France for nine years. After returning to Washington D.C. she continued her career and retired after thirty years of service.

After retiring, she moved back to her beloved Tarpon Springs where she enjoyed her family and friends and her crochet club and bible study. She was a member of the St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Choir which held a special place in her heart and where she continued her beautiful singing. Zula was a beautiful Christian who loved her church and who loved The Lord with all of her heart, soul and mind.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 and the funeral service will begin at 11:00, all on Thursday, March 6 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will follow at Cycadia Cemetery.
